Antoine Gaylord was a Huguenot emigrant (1540-1790).

ANTOINE GAYLORD (GAYLARD in France) was born about 1475 of Rouen, Seine-Inferieure, Haute-Normandie, France, to Alexandre Siegneur Gaillard (1450-1510) and Jeanne DeLange (1450-1515.) Antoine Gaylord was a French Huguenot immigrant (French Protestant. They were persecuted and many killed.) He married Julie Ann LeTarge about 1496 of Langford, Somerset, England.

Antoine Gaylord died 23 December 1565 at Langford Budville, Taunton Deane, Somerset, England, age 90. Buried at Saint Peter’s Churchyard.

Will of ANTONIE GAILERD of Lungford Budfield, (co. Somerset), dated 25 Dec. 1565. To my son Nicholas I give my best cote. Residue to Julian my wife and Jone my daughter, whom executors. Witnesses: none. Proved 20 Feb., 1565-6. (Taunton Wills, Book IV, f. 125.)

The date of marriage is 1496 in England, meaning this person would have left France before 1496.

If so, it wasn't because he was a Huguenot, because at this time the Protestant movement had not started. In 1496 Luther was in his early teens and Calvin yet unborn.
